Building momentum for school leadership development in Peru
In Peru, the importance of strong school leadership is gaining traction as a key lever for transforming educational outcomes. This growing recognition comes in response to the challenges school leaders face in being able to balance instructional and administrative aspects of their role.
We are partnering with VIVA Vive Valores and Enseña Perú as they take steps to strengthen leadership development within the Peruvian education system.
Our work with VIVA Vive Valores
VIVA Vive Valores is a Peruvian organization focused on developing socio-emotional and civic skills in social structures such as schools, families, and communities. Through its initiatives in schools, VIVA aims to foster enabling school environments and build students’ foundational skills to set them up for success.
Directores Emprendedores
We support VIVA through its Directores Emprendedores (Entrepreneurial Principals) program, which equips primary school principals with tools and strategies to facilitate school transformation. This program builds the foundational capacities school leaders need to create thriving, inclusive learning environments, making leadership development a central part of school improvement efforts. The program focuses on personal development for leadership, leveraging ICT tools, building an enabling school culture, and entrepreneurial skills.
VIVA drew upon the GSL Resource Portal and received technical support from GSL to strengthen their program design and delivery.

Our work with Enseña Perú
Enseña Perú enables transformative leadership experiences that bring together school leaders, teachers and education professionals to achieve strong student learning outcomes. Through programs, communities, and collaborative spaces, the organization fosters trust-based, purpose-driven leadership aimed at creating systemic and sustainable change across Peru.
As a member of the Latin America and Caribbean Hub for School Leadership (LAC Hub), Enseña Perú is part of a growing regional effort to strengthen school leadership as a core component of strengthening education systems. In addition, we are supporting Enseña Perú in the development of their school leadership program. We are also exploring shared areas of interest with the goal of fostering school leadership development that is responsive to Peru’s evolving educational landscape.
