School Leadership Hub in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC Hub)
School leadership as a driver of change in regional collaboration for transformative schools

Our Journey
In Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), evidence shows that effective school leadership is the most influential and cost-effective factor for improving learning outcomes and promoting inclusive schools; however, systemic barriers often limit the potential of those who lead schools.
"We are mortgaging our future. Education is the only thing that can achieve that major change: economic competitiveness, reduction of inequalities, and consolidation of democracy."
José Weinstein
Director of the Leadership Program, Universidad Diego Portales, Chile

In 2024, Global School Leaders launched the LAC Hub through a co-creation process: first, a landscape analysis, and subsequently, the conn ection of leading civil society organizations from five countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. This process resulted in our mandate: to boost regional collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of contextualized strategies to generate structural transformations.
By school leadership, we refer to the capacity of school leaders to mobilize their school community towards better learning for all students. Today, our network continues to grow and invites new allies to position school leadership as a central axis for raising educational quality and equity.
What is the LAC Hub?
The LAC Hub is a dynamic collaborative network that brings together civil society organizations, public policy makers, governmental institutions, funders, and multilateral organizations to position school leadership as a strategic pillar of educational quality and equity in Latin America and the Caribbean.
We promote the transformation of educational systems through the co-creation of resources, research, and contextualized strategies, as well as through a unified regional voice for advocacy and collaboration. Join us to professionalize school leadership and transform education.
Why join and support the LAC Hub?
Being part of our collaborative ecosystem allows your organization to multiply its impact. We firmly believe that strong networks and collaboration are essential to achieve regional transformation, surpassing isolated results.
To advance effectively in the strengthening of school leadership, we consider intersectoral and multi-stakeholder cooperation essential, involving governments, funders, non-profit organizations, and other actors committed to this objective.
Immediate benefits of becoming an allied organization:
A unified voice for systemic change: Local priorities are integrated into a solid, articulated regional agenda. This collective voice strengthens the capacity to influence high-level public policies and accelerates the adoption of effective school leadership policies in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Contextualized knowledge and solutions: Direct access to systematized evidence, peer-validated and ready to use (such as policy monitoring and technical documents adapted to each context). This knowledge strengthens national strategies, improves participation in public policy debates, and facilitates the collective construction of better solutions.
Strategic capacity and peer network: Participation in exclusive collaborative events that promote shared learning and strategic coordination. This allows for building solid relationships with leading NGOs and experts across the region, strengthening institutional effectiveness and capacities.
Global visibility and new opportunities: Successful local models connect with the Global School Leaders network, gaining international visibility, access to global best practices, and funding opportunities.
Our Network: Partners & Growth
The LAC Hub was officially launched in February 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil. The network is built on a foundation of collaboration and specific contextualization for each country.
Participating in this network allows us to build a technical value proposition: not being alone, being able to contrast what we do, and also being able to dream of broader initiatives that, in isolation, we would not have considered.

Currently, the LAC Hub brings together more than 30 allies throughout the region, and we continue to add new organizations that share this vision. You can find out who is part of our network by exploring the map below and searching by region.
How can my organization participate in the LAC Hub?
By joining, your organization will participate directly and will be able to lead actions that turn this vision into concrete results:
-
Strengthen organizational capacity: participate in community building events and collaborative learning sessions to improve institutional effectiveness and strengthen capacities alongside peer organizations in the region.
-
Generate and mobilize knowledge: contribute to the creation and validation of relevant research and evidence, using them to inform national strategies and strengthen the organization's position in public policy debates.
-
Drive public policy advocacy: contribute your voice and experience to develop and promote concrete proposals, working collectively to position school leadership as a priority on the regional educational agenda.
-
Ensure sustainability and growth: actively participate in the development and implementation of the Hub's governance structure and in strategic efforts to secure long-term funding.
Meet the Country Ambassadors
In some countries in the region, the LAC Hub has ambassador organizations: strategic allies who take on an articulation role within their own national educational ecosystem. Their work consists of building bridges between key actors—civil society, governments, funders, and school communities—to translate the Hub's regional agenda into concrete and contextualized actions at the local level.
These organizations are a natural entry point for those who wish to join the LAC Hub from their country: they are familiar with the priorities, challenges, and opportunities of their ecosystem, and help the network's collective work translate into real impact within each national context.
Join us to amplify our collective impact!
The LAC Hub is a powerful regional voice that articulates the actors in the educational ecosystem through collective action to drive systemic change. Our mission is to prioritize school leadership as the basis for educational quality and equity in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Be part of this transformative movement. Join our regional collaboration network to amplify impact, foster synergy, and ensure that school leaders are recognized at the center of the educational agenda.
"We have a lot of evidence, many experiences, and many committed organizations. Now we need to connect all of this better and act in a more coordinated way."
