Building locally rooted approaches to strengthen school leadership

In Guatemala, improving education equity and outcomes remains a national priority, particularly in underserved communities. School leadership is essential to building strong, student-centered schools that are grounded in local needs.

We are working in partnership with The Ward Foundation and the Luis von Ahn Foundation to support the creation of Eduk'at, a network of schools committed to improving learning outcomes in Guatemala.
Our Partnership with Eduk’at
Training school leaders to lead with clarity and purpose

We are currently focusing on equipping school principals with the leadership skills they need to shape strong school cultures and improve student learning. We have developed a series of workshops for school leaders in the Eduk’at network focused on:
-
Setting clear school goals
-
Using data for school improvement
-
Strengthening distributed leadership practices

These workshops are designed to help school leaders translate vision into day-to-day practice and lead schools that reflect the values and priorities of their communities. Through this work, we are exploring how to design sustainable models of leadership support that respond to local needs and build on community knowledge.

In addition to this work, we are also working to better understand the education landscape in Guatemala through partnerships with local nonprofits, research organizations, and policymakers.
