Dewi has over 20 years of experience in improving education equity and quality, split equally between program development and research, and across academic, private, non-profit, government, and multilateral institutions. She joined GSL in 2021 as the Senior Director of Research and spearheaded the development of ecosystem and program research to understand the enabling environments and pathways for school leaders to improve student outcomes.
Previously, she was a Senior Social Development Specialist with the World Bank and Task Team Leader for KIAT Guru, a large-scale trial that effectively improved student outcomes in remote primary schools of Indonesia. She was a Lead Research Specialist with the National Team for Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K), a think tank under the Office of the Vice President of Indonesia. She developed capacity-building programs and served as the Program Director for Education and Quality at Tanoto Foundation and the Creative Director at Art Explore.
She received the Fulbright and P.E.O. International Peace Scholarships to pursue her Master of Education from Harvard University. She also holds a Master of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Environmental Design from Massachusetts College of Art.
