Collective Leadership: Schools to Systems

5th November 2024

12:00 - 1:00 PM UTC

Evidence suggests that when School Leaders embrace shared leadership and collaboration they drive sustainable growth in schools. Rather than acting as heroes, effective school leaders engage stakeholders—teachers, students, parents, and the community—through inclusive decision-making. Shared leadership fosters accountability, enhances governance, and creates resilient school environments. However, only half of countries emphasize teacher collaboration, and few leadership programs focus on preparing leaders to delegate and collaborate effectively. Leadership development must prioritize teamwork, communication, and creating a culture of shared responsibility.

Join Alex Beard from Teach For All as he explores what this looks like within schools and what role does it has to play in the system as a whole. This session brings together schools and systems leaders to reflect on shared leadership and how systems can collectively transform outcomes for every student.
