Global School Leaders’ Intern Program:

Global School Leaders’ Intern Program is intentionally designed to be a supportive, engaging, and relevant learning experience for our interns and to provide needed capacity and contributions for our teams.

Key elements of the GSL Intern Program:

  • Our teams choose or design projects that will be interesting learning experiences and appropriate for short-term work.

  • Our program utilizes a cohort model so that small groups of interns can join and learn together.

  • We provide professional learning experiences for our interns, separate from their regular work. These experiences include exposure to other teams or aspects of typical non-profit work in the education sector.

  • Our experienced team members are available to interns for one-on-one conversations to learn more about career paths and particular areas of interest.

Digital Platforms and Systems Intern

En Global School Leaders, integramos investigaciones académicas y buenas prácticas para crear recursos de formación versátiles y basados en evidencia para el liderazgo escolar. Nuestro objetivo principal es mejorar los resultados de los estudiantes. Para facilitar el acceso y la organización, ofrecemos varios portales en línea que alojan estos valiosos recursos. Además, contamos con plataformas diseñadas específicamente para recopilar datos sobre impacto y alcance. Estos portales están alojados en diversas plataformas, incluyendo Google Sites, Wix, Zoho Creator y Document 360.

El rol de la pasantía implica gestionar y mejorar las plataformas en línea de GSL, analizar datos de uso, mantener bases de datos y optimizar los sistemas para mejorar la accesibilidad para el equipo y los socios.

Candidate Qualifications

Calificaciones Requeridas
(usaremos estos criterios en nuestro proceso de selección; si no cumple con todos, será descartado)

  • Experiencia usando herramientas de reporte como Google Analytics, Looker Studio, etc.

  • Experiencia trabajando con sistemas CRM y gestión de bases de datos.

  • De 2 a 4 años de experiencia en los sectores sin fines de lucro y tecnológico (experiencias escolares e informales son aplicables).

  • Experiencia en pruebas de productos en línea para aseguramiento de calidad, para detectar problemas y asegurar que todo funcione correctamente.

  • Residir en África o Asia.

  • Nivel intermedio de inglés (B2 o superior) en hablar, leer y escribir.

  • Capacidad para comprometerse con trabajo a tiempo parcial desde aproximadamente enero de 2024 hasta marzo de 2025 (fechas exactas flexibles).

  • Disponibilidad para dedicar 10-15 horas por semana a proyectos de GSL, con algunas llamadas en la mañana temprano o en la noche (algunas semanas pueden ser más o menos intensas).

  • Formación académica en tecnología, informática o campo relacionado.

  • Capacidad para encontrar soluciones creativas dentro de las limitaciones de las herramientas y recursos disponibles.

  • Experiencia gestionando proyectos con partes interesadas externas.

Key Projects and Workstreams

En este rol, brindarás apoyo al equipo de Programas de GSL de las siguientes maneras:

Gestión de la Plataforma de GSL:

  • Realizar mantenimiento y actualizaciones periódicas en las plataformas en línea de GSL, incluyendo verificación de enlaces, actualizaciones de contenido, pruebas, y asegurarse de que todos los recursos estén actualizados y sean accesibles.

  • Analizar las métricas existentes de las plataformas en línea de GSL, documentar las tendencias de uso y generar informes accesibles para el equipo.

  • Desarrollar e implementar estrategias para mejorar la plataforma basadas en los análisis de datos.

Gestión de Bases de Datos y Sistemas CRM:

  • Gestionar, depurar y organizar las bases de datos de líderes escolares en diversos sistemas (monday.com CRM, Airtable, Google Sheets).

  • Proponer e implementar soluciones para mejorar la integración y gestión de bases de datos.

Sistemas y Procesos:

  • Trabajar en estrecha colaboración con la Gerenta Senior de Producto para diseñar mejores sistemas y procesos que permitan al equipo de GSL y a los socios acceder a las plataformas de GSL.

  • Gestionar y documentar todas las herramientas y suscripciones en línea de GSL en un lugar centralizado, facilitando el acceso del equipo a estas suscripciones.

Esta pasantía brinda experiencia valiosa en la gestión de plataformas y bases de datos, sistemas CRM, y en el procesamiento y organización eficiente de datos. Al colaborar con miembros senior del equipo, la persona pasante profundizará su comprensión de cómo las organizaciones sin fines de lucro utilizan la tecnología, ganando perspectivas sobre los desafíos y oportunidades que esto representa. En conjunto, este rol permitirá contribuir a una estrategia tecnológica significativa para la organización mientras se optimizan los recursos en línea para lograr un mayor impacto.

Working Remotely

  • You will work around 10–15 hours each week, with some weeks requiring more time than others.

  • You must have internet access and access to a computer. These will not be provided for you.

  • You will have little supervision and will need to monitor your own tasks and time carefully. Your manager will check in with you at least once each week and will expect to see evidence of progress made on your projects during each check-in.

  • Because there is little supervision, you will need to be proactive about reaching out for help, asking questions, and scheduling time to talk to others on the team as needed.

  • Your working times can be flexible, but you will need to work with your manager to align your schedules. For example, you will not be able to work exclusively on weekends and you may need to have calls outside of typical working hours to account for the different time zones across our team.

  • You will be paid hourly and are expected to keep track of your time and submit timesheets and invoices. Your manager will review your time to ensure it is in line with the tasks you have completed.

Work Location and Remuneration

The intern can be based in any country. The intern must have work authorization in their place of residence as GSL is not able to sponsor employment visas. A modest hourly rate is paid to all interns based on the cost of living and purchasing power in their country/city of residence. All interns will be paid at least the mandated minimum wage in their country or sometimes more in cases when the minimum wage is significantly lower than the living wage.

You are a self-starter and great at managing your time. Because of our remote work, you will have a very flexible schedule but high expectations for what you accomplish during your work time. (Please note, though, that due to our team being spread across the globe, meetings may need to be scheduled at very early morning hours (5 or 6am) or very late evening/night hours (10 or 11pm).

About GSL

School leaders have the potential to make incredible changes in the lives of students by building a strong school culture and helping teachers provide great instruction. Yet, school leadership has not been prioritized in low and middle-income countries. GSL works to change that through the following workstreams:
 

  1. We catalyze and support local partner organizations to deliver and scale high-quality training to school leaders. 
     

  2. We generate insights from our partners and the broader research community to inform education policymakers, researchers, and practitioners on the best ways to support and develop strong school leadership. 
     

  3. We connect our partner organizations with each other for deep learning between themselves and amongst the broader school leadership community - governments, funders, and policymakers.

We are a small but mighty remote team spread across the globe. We care about each other, and we care about the work.

En cinco años, hemos:

  • Establecido alianzas con organizaciones en India, Indonesia, Malasia, Kenia y Brasil que trabajan con más de 3,500 líderes escolares, impactando aproximadamente a 920,000 estudiantes.

  • Publicado una revisión de evidencia sobre lo que se sabe acerca del liderazgo escolar a nivel global, así como dos encuestas que ayudan a la comunidad de políticas públicas a escuchar las voces de docentes y líderes escolares.

  • Nos hemos convertido en una de las voces líderes en las conversaciones sobre liderazgo escolar en el sur global, siendo invitados a conferencias y seminarios web en todo el mundo, y siendo reconocidos por nuestro trabajo. En 2021, HundrED, en asociación con el Banco Mundial, reconoció a GSL como una de las diez soluciones más impactantes y escalables para apoyar el desarrollo profesional docente.

  • Establecido la Red de Liderazgo Escolar junto con el Grupo de Trabajo Internacional sobre Docentes para la Educación 2030, auspiciado por la UNESCO y la Fundación Varkey, para organizar reuniones en línea con más de 100 expertos y 400 líderes escolares de más de 50 países, fomentando el aprendizaje entre pares, el intercambio de prácticas innovadoras y el fortalecimiento de la voz de los líderes escolares en los círculos de política educativa.

  • Ampliado nuestro trabajo para responder a las necesidades durante la COVID en Filipinas, Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria y Perú.
